Robert P. Gutierrez is the Chairman and CEO of Armadillo Construction Company, LTD. He joined Armadillo in 1974 after several years of working in the manufactured housing industry. His early experience bred a passion to help people achieve their dream of home ownership. Under Robert's leadership and commitment to quality and value, Armadillo has grown to become one of the largest Homebuilders in Texas, expanding beyond its founding market of Laredo -- to San Antonio and Austin. The company has won numerous national honors including the Lee Evans Management Excellence Award, and the "America's Best Builder" title, sponsored by Builder Magazine and the National Association of Homebuilders. Professional Builder Magazine also has honored Armadillo with the "Professional Achievement Award for Affordable Housing." His activities are not limited exclusively to Armadillo Homes. Robert advocates Community Reinvestment and has been a strong supporter of United Way, The Boys Club Council, Webb County NHS, Junior Achievement, Laredo Children's Museum, and Bethany House. He served on the Boards of Commerce Bank, Laredo Development Foundation, Housing Roundtable, Inc., and was the Founding President of the Laredo Builder's Association. Robert attributes Armadillo's success to all the fine people working with him. "They are all committed to making the American Dream of home ownership a reality," he says. Jeff is originally from Laredo, Texas but now calls San Antonio his home. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a BA degree in Economics. Jeff has been a part of the Armadillo Homes team for 22 years. As president Jeff is responsible for implementing the company’s business plan as it relates to land acquisition, profitability, increasing market share, construction quality, customer satisfaction, continuity and growth. Jeff’s sincere focus on operational excellence, team building, and his hands on approach to achieving the company’s goals has proven to be an asset to Armadillo Homes.
Don serves Armadillo Homes as its controller, supervising accounting activities. Don graduated summa cum laude from UTSA in 1981 with a BBA in accounting. He received his certification as a certified public accountant in 1983. Don worked in the public accounting, banking, manufacturing and agriculture fields before joining Armadillo. He has been with Armadillo for 18 years now.
Shad joined Armadillo Homes in 2015 with over 12 years of land acquisition, entitlement, financing and development experience. He serves Armadillo Homes through the acquisition of land and lots for the San Antonio, New Braunfels and Laredo markets. Shad earned a MBA with an emphasis in finance from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona in 1994. He is a Life Member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E.). Shad and his wife Andi have two daughters, Abigail and Olivia. They love to take advantage of all the great outdoor activities the San Antonio area has to offer, like hiking, biking, fishing, day trips in the surrounding area and frequent weekend trips to Port Aransas.
Oscar Dominguez joined Armadillo Homes in April 2010, as Director of Land Development. His significant back ground experience in Planning and Land Development will bring a new addition to the firm. As Director, he will be managing the daily activities of planning and developing land tracts and due diligence procedures for acquiring new land for single family communities.
Michael studied construction management at Southwest Texas State University and brings extensive residential construction experience and knowledge to his position as Area Manager. As a seasoned construction veteran, Michael goes the extra mile to ensure that his projects are built to the highest of standards. With over 16 years of experience, Michael brings the passion and leadership to guide a successful team of home builders.
Rick Ramirez has served as the Laredo Division President since June of 2002. He joined Armadillo Homes in 1997 as a New Home Sales Consultant and became Sales Manager in December of 2001. Before joining our team, Rick managed retail department stores for both JCPenney and Bealls. With over 30 years of experience in the retail industry and management fields, Rick brings an indispensable wealth of knowledge to the Armadillo team.
Timothy Jolley has been a part of the Armadillo Construction family for more than 15 years. Over those fifteen years he rose from Home Builder to Vice President of Construction for Armadillo's Laredo Division. Throughout this process Mr. Jolley has become experienced in all aspects of the construction business. His dedication and hard work is a valuable component to the Armadillo Construction team, for he carries the knowledge and experience to ensure that Armadillo remains an extraordinary and esteemed home builder; a home builder that is trusted by all Laredo families.
Adrian believes that there is a dream home plan for every family, every home site, and every budget. For over 24 years, he has collaborated with some of the most prestigious and award winning architectural firms throughout the US to bring innovative design trends to Armadillo Homes. His genuine focus has been to develop designs that appeal to a broad market and are aesthetically pleasing, along with construction plans that are easy to build and easy to sell. Since 2007, he has also been in charge of the Estimating Department which has integrated job cost budgeting with Lean Design.
Adolfo has been a member of the Armadillo Homes family since 2002. As a member of the Centralized Estimating and Purchasing staff, Adolfo has led the Purchasing team since 2008. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University - WHOOP! Adolfo has served in various customer service, construction and purchasing capacities while working in the Laredo, Austin and San Antonio Divisions. He is on the Board of Directors for the Greater San Antonio Builders Association and is active with the membership committee. Adolfo and his wife, Dennise, now call San Antonio their home and enjoy taking advantage of all that it has to offer for their family.
Jorge Flores was born and raised in Laredo. He has spent the better part of 30 years employed with Armadillo Homes in several capacities. Through the years, he served as the Plant Manager for Armadillo Lumber and Manager for Armadillo Component Plant. Furthermore, he has held the titles of VP of Purchasing and VP of Job Cost Estimating. Jorge is currently the Director of Construction for the Laredo Division, and as such oversees all the building operations in Laredo. With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Jorge has played a vital role in Armadillo Homes’ success.
