Robert P. Gutierrez is the Chairman and CEO of Armadillo Construction Company, LTD. He joined Armadillo in 1974 after several years of working in the manufactured housing industry. His early experience bred a passion to help people achieve their dream of home ownership.
Under Robert's leadership and commitment to quality and value, Armadillo has grown to become one of the largest Homebuilders in Texas, expanding beyond its founding market of Laredo -- to San Antonio and Austin. The company has won numerous national honors including the Lee Evans Management Excellence Award, and the "America's Best Builder" title, sponsored by Builder Magazine and the National Association of Homebuilders. Professional Builder Magazine also has honored Armadillo with the "Professional Achievement Award for Affordable Housing."
His activities are not limited exclusively to Armadillo Homes. Robert advocates Community Reinvestment and has been a strong supporter of United Way, The Boys Club Council, Webb County NHS, Junior Achievement, Laredo Children's Museum, and Bethany House.
He served on the Boards of Commerce Bank, Laredo Development Foundation, Housing Roundtable, Inc., and was the Founding President of the Laredo Builder's Association.
Robert attributes Armadillo's success to all the fine people working with him. "They are all committed to making the American Dream of home ownership a reality," he says. "It is that vision that drives Armadillo to excellence."

Jeff is originally from Laredo, Texas but now calls San Antonio his home. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a BA degree in Economics. Jeff has been a part of the Armadillo Homes team for 16 years. As president Jeff is responsible for implementing the company’s business plan as it relates to land acquisition, profitability, increasing market share, construction quality, customer satisfaction, continuity and growth. Jeff’s sincere focus on operational excellence, team building, and his hands on approach to achieving the company’s goals has proven to be an asset to Armadillo Homes.

Don serves Armadillo Homes as its controller, supervising accounting activities. Don graduated summa cum laude from UTSA in 1981 with a BBA in accounting. He received his certification as a certified public accountant in 1983. Don worked in the public accounting, banking, manufacturing and agriculture fields before joining Armadillo. He has been with Armadillo for twelve years now.

Brian joined Armadillo Homes in 2001 after spending several years with a major national homebuilder in San Antonio. With over a decade of homebuilding experience, Brian utilizes his extensive construction knowledge and training to bring the best construction superintendents and contractors to build Armadillo’s homes in an efficient and timely manner. His tenacity for homebuilding is evident in every Armadillo home from the quality of construction to creating a home the customer will take pride in for many years to come.

Victor Mendoza currently serves as Armadillo Homes Director of Sales. Victor joined Armadillo Homes in 2005. Before he was Director of Sales, he enjoyed 12 years of experience as a New Home Sales Consultant where assisted new and established sales staff as trainer and mentor. “I enjoy assisting our sales team in giving our homebuyers the opportunity for homeownership by using our ‘Help, don’t sell’ approach.”

Ricke earned a Bachelor of Science degree in homebuilding from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas in 1971. He holds a Real Estate Broker’s license in the State of Texas. With over 30 years in the homebuilding industry in Texas, his experience prior to Armadillo Homes has been focused in Land Development and Acquisition with the following companies: Fieldstone Homes (Land Acquisition Manger 2003 - 2010), KB Home(Director of Land Acquisition 1996 - 2003), George Wimpey of Texas, Inc. (Vice President of Land Development Operations 1980 - 1995). His experience has and will continue to be a valuable asset to the Armadillo Team.

Oscar Dominguez joined Armadillo Homes in April 2010, as Director of Land Development. His significant back ground experience in Planning and Land Development will bring a new addition to the firm. As Director, he will be managing the daily activities of planning and developing land tracts and due diligence procedures for acquiring new land for single family communities.

Rick Ramirez has served as the Laredo Division President since June of 2002. He joined Armadillo Homes in 1997 as a New Home Sales Consultant and became Sales Manager in December of 2001. Before joining our team, Rick managed retail department stores for both JCPenney and Bealls. With over 30 years of experience in the retail industry and management fields, Rick brings an indispensable wealth of knowledge to the Armadillo team.

Jorge Flores was born and raised in Laredo. He has spent the better part of 30 years employed with Armadillo Homes in several capacities. Through the years, he served as the Plant Manager for Armadillo Lumber and Manager for Armadillo Component Plant. Furthermore, he has held the titles of VP of Purchasing and VP of Job Cost Estimating. Jorge is currently the Director of Construction for the Laredo Division, and as such oversees all the building operations in Laredo. With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Jorge has played a vital role in Armadillo Homes’ success.
